Re: accordion teachers in the east bay?
Sun, January 6, 2008 - 12:57 AMThis isn't terribly helpful as I don't have any personal experience and play a piano accordion so far, but here is a list of Bay Area accordion teachers here (scroll to middle of page):
www.accordionapocalypse.com/index.php
However, I'm not sure who teaches button accordion (there's one listed specifically, but there may be others)
What kind did you get?
Just wondering as I've generally seen piano accordions used with gypsy music, but it shouldn't matter.
Is it a diatonic or chromatic one? I'd think it be harder to play a lot of gypsy music on a diatonic one, though.
Oh, you can also try posting on the "Accordion hotties" or "Squeezebox" tribes as well if you don't find one here.
Good luck!
